Serves West Contra Costa County. Child and Family Therapy Services – includes play therapy as well as “dyadic” therapy (caregiver and child together) for children 0-6 years. Therapy services help improve family dynamics by supporting attachment bonds between parents and their children; by teaching parenting and nurturing skills; and by helping parents address their own childhood traumas.

Free health exams for infants, children, teens and young adults (up to age 21). Home visits provided by Public Health Nurses and Community Health Workers. Assistance with access to health care services, case coordination, parent education and child safety. The respite office is open Mon-Fri, 9:00 AM-4:00 PM to take respite requests; respite services are provided 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, based on the needs of the families.

The Contra Costa Breastfeeding Advice Warmline offers reliable information in Spanish or English to nursing women and their families residing in Contra Costa County, free of charge. The Warmline volunteers are breastfeeding experts. They include board certified lactation consultants, lactation educators, nurses and a doctor. All messages left on the machine will be answered within 24 hours, 7 days a week.

Family Support Services provides respite care and other supportive services to parents/caregivers of children with special needs, such as those who have a developmental disability, are medically fragile, drug exposed, abused or neglected or at risk of abuse or neglect. Respite provides caregivers (biological or resource parents, relative or fictive kin caregivers) with a planned break to relieve some of the stress of full-time care giving. We also provide Kinship, Family Preservation and mental health services.
